Hoboken Firehouses & Firemen’s Monument

The four firehouses included in this project are Engine Company #2, Engine Company #3, Engine Company # 3 Truck #2, and Engine Company #6 and are listed in the National Register of Historic Places Thematic Nomination – Hoboken Firehouses and Firemen’s Monument. Each of the four firehouses is still operational. Engine Company # 2 was constructed in 1890 in the Romanesque Revival style following the designs of Dixon & DeSaldern. Engine Company #3 was constructed in 1915 in the Italian Villa style according to designs by the architectural firm of Fagan & Briscoe. Engine Company # 3 Truck # 2 Firehouse was constructed in 1892. Charles Fall was the architect and the building is designed in the Romanesque Revival style. Engine Company #6 was constructed in 1907 in the Classical Revival style. The architects for this firehouse are unknown.   

The Trust grant helped fund the completion of a condition assessment with prioritized treatment recommendations and cost estimates for the four firehouses.
