This Beaux Arts-style bank building was built in 1912 and is characteristic of the many classical bank buildings constructed during this period. The building was in commercial use until the late 1990s when it was acquired by the city.  The Vermont granite building is in relatively good condition, retaining most of its historic details and materials inside and out.

The grant will help fund design and construction documents for a new heating and ventilation system, as well as interior rehabilitation that will allow the building to open to the public as a City museum.
