Located in Buccleuch Park overlooking the Raritan River, the mansion is probably New Brunswick's finest example of colonial architecture. Built circa 1740, the house contains many notable interior finishes such as original wood paneling, outstanding early Parisian scenic wallpapers, and fine Federal mantels.

The Trust grant funded restoration of the exterior of the house to its early nineteenth century appearance. Buccleuch Mansion currently operates as a historic house museum.
