The Burrowes Mansion is a remarkably intact early-eighteenth century dwelling, which retains much of its Georgian-style interior woodwork. The house is also significant for its association with the Revolutionary War. It was the home of Major John Burrowes, Jr., who mustered the First New Jersey Company on the property.

The matching grant funded structural repairs, replacement of deteriorated roofing and siding with appropriate materials, and other improvements necessary to preserve the house.
