Cadwalader Park, located in a residential area of Trenton near the Delaware River, is the only park in New Jersey designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, America’s best-known landscape architect.  Built in 1890-1892, Cadwalader Park retains the characteristic curvilinear paths and spatial qualities that are the signature of the famous landscape architect.

William Endebrock designed the comfort station in 1911 with an Arts and Crafts appeal in its brick and stucco exterior with half-timbered accents and a deeply overhanging roof.  The restrooms feature terrazzo tile floors and ceramic tile walls. Closed 20 years ago, newly proposed public activities in this area of the park emphasize the critical need for public restrooms.

The 2000 Trust grant helped fund the creation of management and fundraising plans for the long-term rehabilitation and restoration of the park.  The current Trust grant will help fund the rehabilitation of the comfort station and restoration of its historic appearance.
