The c. 1836 church is an anchor in the Middletown Historic District and is used primarily for public events. The first Trust grant helped to fund the preparation of a preservation plan that addressed concerns for the structural stability and made recommendation for further study and construction drawings for stabilization. The second grant helped fund construction drawings for the stabilization, repair and restoration of the church bell tower, foundation and floor supports.  The third grant helped fund the structural stabilization of the tower.
