The Levoy has been a Millville landmark since 1908, when it opened as a theater and dance hall. After multiple renovations for movie theater audiences, the structure was vacated in 1974 and quickly deteriorated due to water infiltration.

The Trust grant will help fund the repair and reinforcement of a pair of trusses over the balcony. Workers discovered this damage last year while repairing other trusses and replacing the roof in an effort to prevent further deterioration. Millville and the grantee are exploring adaptive reuse and restoration options to create a performing arts center at the Levoy, in support of Millville’s arts district.
