The original stone section of the house was built in the 1770s. Other frame additions were constructed until the house attained its present size, the last phase constructed in the 1840s. The style and integrity of the Long House, and its continued relationship to Hope’s Moravian history, contribute to the significance of the local historic district.

The stabilization project involves the repair and replacement of defective corner posts, joints, columns, sills and the repair of stone foundations in order to provide adequate support for a new roof.

This project site also received assistance from the Garden State Historic Preservation Trust Fund.
