This Neo-Georgian style mansion was constructed for Peter Hood Ballantine Frelinghuysen, president of P. Ballantine & Sons Brewery. In addition to the formal house and gardens, the 150-acre estate included the Twin Oaks Dairy Farm. Occupied by the Morris Museum since 1964, the house is the backdrop for wide ranging exhibits related to fine arts, anthropology, geology, decorative arts, history, and natural science.
The Trust grant will help fund the extension of fire suppression systems to the basement storage area. The work is required for code compliance.
