This schoolhouse, designed by Lambertville architect James Bird has been used continuously as an elementary school since its 1872 construction.  Enlarged in 1884 and modified in 1952, the school is on the site of the original 1832 schoolhouse.  Designed in a High Victorian Gothic style, the school maintains its historic character, though some decorative elements have been removed.

The current grant will help fund the preparation of construction documents and construction supervision for work that will address repairs to the timber frame, sill, wood siding and stone foundations. A previous Trust grant helped fund the preparation of a preservation plan that is guiding the preservation work on this key community landmark.
