The present sanctuary of First Reformed Church of New Brunswick was built in 1812 with an 1835 steeple.  Beside it stand the education building, dating from 1871, the Sexton’s House dating to 1885, and a cemetery dating to 1790. In 1997 a breezeway was added connecting the Education building to the Church. The Education Building houses the classrooms, meeting rooms, offices, and a second floor gymnasium. Currently, the building houses two other congregations.

The Trust grant will assist preservation of the exterior of the education building and the church sanctuary.  The Education building will have its roof replaced, tower stabilized, and masonry repaired. The main church building’s slate roof is to be replaced and tower repointed.  The project is guided by a preservation plan prepared with Trust funding in 2007.
