Built in 1849, East Point Lighthouse is a relatively rare example of a lighthouse with an integrated keeper's dwelling and tower. By guiding vessels in and out of the Maurice River, now designated as one of the nation's wild and scenic rivers, the lighthouse was an important element in the maritime economy of the area. The lighthouse is the oldest in the Delaware River and Bay area, and the only operational lighthouse on the bay.
The Trust grant funded the second phase of work, which was interior restoration.
The Trust grant helped fund stabilization of the exterior masonry.
