The First Aid building in Spring Lake was constructed at the beginning of the 20th century, funded by a private donation to the community. Though no longer meeting modern emergency facilities needs, it reflects the local community’s civic pride and care.  Though once threatened with demolition, the community has come to realize the history and unique charm of this Tudor brick structure.

The grant will assist the preparation of a Historic Conditions Survey and Phase I construction documents. The project will be the first step towards rehabilitating the building for use as a visitor welcome center and an interpretation center for the community.
