Constructed in 1886, the asymmetrical Shingle-style church is likely the first commission of American architects Hastings and Carrere, designers of the NY Public Library and Senate Office Buildings in Washington.  The whimsical exterior includes a hipped roof porte-cochere, an octagonal tower over the sanctuary capped by dormers, and a layered turret, round arched windows and decorative shingles throughout.  Unique features include fish scale shingles on the interior, and three authenticated Tiffany windows.

The matching grant will help fund exterior restoration of the church.  The project is guided by a preservation plan that was funded with a previous Trust grant.
