The Hoff-Vannatta site is a remarkably intact farmstead that dates from the late 18th through 19th centuries. Outbuildings constructed throughout the 19th century surround the rough-cut stone farmhouse. The property was purchased in 2001 using Green Acres funding, and is included in the Warren County Trail Project. The fields surrounding the historic property are leased for farming. The community is negotiating a long-term lease for the property to stabilize, preserve and adaptively use and interpret the farm site.
The current Trust grant will help fund the preparation of a Historic Structure Report for the farmhouse, outbuildings and site. A previous Trust grant helped to identify structural needs of the house and barn, which are being addressed by repair work that county funding is supporting.
