This elegant Second Empire-style stone house was constructed in 1871 for the Holcombe family, descendants of Lambertville’s first settler, farmer and landowner. The house stands in testimony to the growth and prosperity that Lambertville experienced in the latter half of the 1800s, due to its proximity to the canal, railroad and local industries. Used as a social club in the early 20th century, the building has been home to city offices since 1950.
The Trust grant will fund a preservation plan that will make specific recommendations for building code and barrier-free accessibility accommodations, a lighting plan, and paint and mortar analysis.
