Of the Tudor-Revival style, the first aid building was constructed in the early 20^th century by a private benefactor for the Borough. The building suffers from deferred maintenance and disuse.  It was slated for demolition, but the community rallied to save the structure and had the building listed in the National Register.  

The current Trust grant will assist the rehabilitation of the building for use as a community center and visitor center, while preserving its exterior and historic character. The project is guided by a preservation plan funded by a previous Trust grant.
