The Brook Theatre, now home to the Somerset County Cultural Arts Center, is an innovative project that combines preservation, revitalization and the arts. The only remaining vaudeville theatre in Somerset County, the 1927 theatre suffered extensive damage from 1999 Hurricane Floyd, with floodwaters reaching 12-15 feet high in the auditorium. The restored Brook Theatre will be the centerpiece of the commercial revitalization of the Bound Brook neighborhood.

The Trust grant helped fund the preparation of a nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.
