The Connett Memorial Library is a Richardsonian Romanesque style public library in brick and sandstone, with a red slate roof. Built in 1895 and designed by Stephenson and Greene of New York, it is unusual for retaining most of its historic fabric and details inside and out. It stands within sight of the other three main public structures in South Orange Village: the village hall, the train station, and the fire house. Since 1968 the Connett Library has been leased to a nonprofit organization for their headquarters after a new library was constructed.

The 2017 grant helped fund exterior restoration including masonry and window restoration. The 2009 Trust grant helped fund the preparation of a preservation plan to set priorities for repairs to the building and explore possible new uses for the building by the current library.
