The Perkins House is significant for its association with the Perkins-D’Olier family and for its architectural design. As one of the earliest families in Moorestown, the Perkins were active Quaker members in the community and ran an orchard and nursery on Evergreen Lawn for decades. The 1910 Tudor Revival style house was designed and built by noted Philadelphia architect, Herbert C. Wise, for Alice and Dudley Perkins as a wedding gift from Dudley’s father. The 1930s Craftsman style carriage house remains. The buildings were bequeathed to Moorestown Township in 1965 and the Perkins Center was founded in 1977.

The 2023 Trust grant will help fund a roof replacement and reconfiguration of the entry vestibule for ADA compliance.

A 2007 grant helped fund signage and site interpretation for the arboretum and the development of walking tours of the historic district. A previous Trust grant helped fund design documents to address barrier-free access.
